Title: Gilded Onions

4 Onions
HONEY MUSTARD SAUCE
1/4cHoney; liquid
1tsSoy sauce
1tsMustard; Dijon
BROWN SUGAR GLAZE VARIATION
1/2cBrown sugar - packed
2tbButter 2 Tbsp water

cut off tops and botooms of onions, remove skin. Place onions in saucepan and add enough water to come to depth of 1". Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 30 minutes. Drain and transfer onions to small greased casserole.

Honey-Mustard Sauce: In small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce and mustard; cook over medium heat, stirring for 5 minutes. Pour over onions and bake, uncovered in 350F oven, basting occaisionally, for 30 to 40 minutes till heated through and glazed. Cut each onion in half to serve.

Variation: Brown Sugar Glaze. In small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 Tbsp butter and 2 Tbsp water, cook as above and pour over onions before baking.
